Workplace incivility is defined as low-intensity deviant behavior with ambiguous intent to harm. Meta-analytic evidence links experienced incivility with adverse affective, health, social-exchange and behavioral outcomes.
Evidence
A meta-analysis integrating roughly two decades of research synthesized more than 200 primary studies and found workplace incivility associated with a broad range of negative employee outcomes and contextual antecedents.
