LAUNCH A WELLNESS INITIATIVE
When work is exhausting people, improve their recovery skills before reconsidering the work.
Offer resilience resources, wellness communications, mindfulness sessions and reminders about available support. Track participation and engagement. Preserve workload, staffing assumptions and decision latitude unless those variables independently fail a business metric.

Unfortunately, the research…
Claim
Burnout is associated with interacting job demands and resources; individual support can matter, but interventions aimed only at recovery do not address organizational conditions that may be contributing to exhaustion.
Evidence
Burnout research consistently links high demands and insufficient resources with exhaustion and related outcomes. Reviews also emphasize that burnout has organizational as well as individual antecedents, while social and personal resources can still be protective. The evidence supports examining work design alongside individual supports rather than assuming either level is sufficient by itself.

The Directive is satire. The research summary is not. Evidence is stated separately and qualified to the underlying literature rather than treated as proof of the joke.
